Washington, DC – A spokesman for the Economic Bridge Coalition, a broad coalition of organizations representing our nation’s small businesses who are trying to recover from pandemic-related closures and restrictions, issued the following statement thanking the House of Representatives for today passing the Relief for Restaurants and Other Hard Hit Small Businesses Act, H.R. 3807.
“The Economic Bridge Coalition is pleased with today’s bipartisan vote in the U.S. House of Representatives on final passage of H.R.3807, the Relief for Restaurants and Other Hard Hit Small Businesses Act of 2022. The Coalition wants to thank all House members who voted to pass the bill, which would save small businesses in every state. We especially want to thank House Small Business Committee Chair Velazquez for her support of the Coalition’s principles that are contained in the bill. Now that H.R. 3807 has passed the House we look forward to working with the Senate to pass this important legislation as soon as possible,” said John McClelland, vice president for government affairs and chief economist for the American Rental Association.
The Economic Bridge Coalition (EBC) includes 17 diverse trade associations representing more than 2 million small businesses that were disproportionately damaged by the coronavirus pandemic and resulting public health measures that repeatedly forced them to suspend operations and limit capacity.
The members of the Economic Bridge Coalition include the American Horse Council (AHC), American Rental Association (ARA), American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP), American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA), Custom Tailors and Designers Association (CTDA), The Graphic Artist Guild, International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE), International Council of Air Shows (ICAS), Live Events Coalition (LEC), North American Nature Photography Association, National Press Photographers Association (NPPA), National Ski Areas Association (NSAA), Outdoor Amusement Business Association (OABA), Professional Photographers Association (PPA), Performance Racing Industry (PRI), and the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA).
